Abstract

The covid-19 pandemic was an unexpected situation for the population worldwide, great changes came with it, there were so many changes that the world had to learn to live under these circumstances. Without a doubt, one of the aspects that was most affected was mental health, therefore, it is necessary to know what impact covid-19 had on the mental health of the inhabitants of San Gil-Santander?; For this, the impact generated by covid-19 on the inhabitants of San Gil was described, with a descriptive qualitative approach investigation, this was carried out by means of collecting information which was organized in an Excel Pivot document. to later analyze it through the Big Data technique, because it allows optimizing its organization. The results obtained by using the principles of the Big Data technique in this article showed that the inhabitants of the city of San Gil had a negative impact on their mental health, showing that they increased attendance at mental health services and depressive episodes.
