Abstract
In the stock market, 2020 meant an atypical period for the Lima stock exchange and for the global stock markets, marked by a strong setback at the beginning of the year due to the outbreak of the global health emergency Summary The World Health Organization Concerned about the spread of the disease and its severity, it decided to declare the new coronavirus on March 11, 2020 as a Pandemic, having spread to more than one hundred countries in the world simultaneously. In this paper, it is proposed to analyze the financial performance of the companies that make up the Selective Index in order to identify the economic repercussions of the pandemic. These companies are characterized by maintaining a greater amount of negotiation, presence in the market and better capitalization; They also belong to various sectors such as mining, consumption, services and industrial. The composition of the Selective Index was established in September 2019 The general objective of this work is to compare the growth or decrease of the companies that make up the selective index of the Lima stock market in 2020. The health issue such as Covid -19 affected the country and the world, which is why they reduce profits or cause losses in companies, damaging employment, investments, share prices, valuations of contributions from pension funds, taxes to be paid and that many micro and small businesses have gone bankrupt to date, losing many jobs.
